Bishop Robert G. Moore, Jr.
Bio:
Bishop Robert G. Moore Jr.was born to parents, Bishop Robert G. Moore Sr. and Evangelist Pearl Lee Moore, in 1962. He was raised in East Cleveland, OH. Bishop Moore graduated from Shaw High School in 1980 and attended Cuyahoga Community College with coursework in Music Theory and Computer Technology. In 1998 he graduated from Christ Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by the late Bishop Jesse D. Ellis, II. As a result of his Christian parents, he began to seek salvation for himself. On January 4, 1982, after hearing the preaching of Bishop Emmitt Nevels, Sr. at Calvary Hill Church of God in Christ, Bishop Moore accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and soon after became a faithful member of Calvary Hill COGIC. His gift and love for music opened the door for him to serve as devotional leader, choir member, and musician. His passion for the Gospel and his spiritual gifts for ministry is expressed through the writing and composition of three CD releases, “Seek Him”, “Anointed” and his latest release Bishop Robert G. Moore Jr.& the Voices. He has also written and directed three gospel stage productions.
Bishop Moore accepted the call to preach in 1988 and was ordained an Elder in the Lord’s Church by the late Bishop William Morgan James of the Ohio Northern Jurisdiction of C.O.G.I.C. In 1996, Bishop Moore became a member of the Pentecostal Churches of Christ in Cleveland, Ohio under the mentorship of Bishop J. Delano Ellis, II. In 1999 he was appointed ruling Elder for the Parish of St. Matthew, where he faithfully served for two years. In 2001, Bishop Moore was appointed to Pastor of Faith Temple United Pentecostal Church of Christ; the name was later changed to New Vision New Day Ministry (as it remains today).
He was appointed to Overseer in the Pentecostal Churches of Christ for Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, in 2008. In 2013, he was consecrated and ordained as a Diocesan Bishop for the first Episcopal Diocese in the Pentecostal Churches Of Christ. For a short period of time, he served as an interim Pastor of Bread of Heaven Tabernacle of Praise in Lawrence Park, PA (fulfilling his duty as Bishop & Overseer). Currently, Bishop Moore serves in the Pentecostal Churches of Christ as Coadjutor of the Ohio Diocese and Chair of Pentecost in Action. Not only is he committed to ministry but is bi-vocational and employed with DHL International. Prior to starting his career at DHL, he was employed by Interstate Brands (Wonder Bread) for over 22 years as a driver/sales representative. People all over Cleveland remember him as the “Preaching Bread Man”, and his response always, “Not only do I deliver bread for the physical man, but also the spiritual man.”
Bishop Moore has a heart for people and prioritizes the needs of people in the congregation and community. He, along with his wife, have hosted Health and Community Fairs, an Annual McDonald’s Gospel Fest and the annual “I need a Miracle” benefit Concert, which is held every December along with a Toys for Tots giveaway during the holiday season to benefit those in need of a miracle for their families. In addition to this, every year they host a Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner. Under Bishop Moore’s leadership the “Meet the Need Program” was established to assist needy residents in the Youngtown and neighboring communities with food, clothing, and household goods. Bishop Moore asserts “With the help of the Lord, commitment, perseverance, and faithfulness, New Vision New Day has been blessed to accomplish many things in the past 22 years and we believe God for greater things to come!”
Bishop Moore is the proud husband of Elder Selena Marie Moore and father to 5 children – Tiwan, Tiarra, LaTasha, Robert III, and Melvin Jr. He is also Papa to three grandchildren.
Bishop Moore has always believed and stated, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) and “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
